How Great Photography Gets You Better PR

Get Noticed with High-Quality Photography

Here’s how we helped one client secure MAJOR press nods

Even the most curated Instagram feed can only get your brand so far. Growing your brand (and brand awareness) requires getting it in front of a larger audience. Landing features in major newspapers and magazines can help your products get featured with the right audience, but that’s easier said than done.

High-quality photography helps present your brand as a force to be reckoned with. It shows you’ve invested in your company and presents a professional and trustworthy first impression to reporters and prospective consumers alike.

What problems did QSK solve for Maazah Chutney?

Maazah came to Quincy Street Kitchen with only a limited collection of existing photos of their brand or their product. They were looking to build up a portfolio of images to post on their website and social channels, but also to create engaging content to submit with press releases to grow their brand.

Prior to teaming up with QSK, Maazah had just completed a branding re-design so they were looking for beautiful imagery to reflect their new branding for e-commerce sales and social content.

What services did QSK provide?

During the course of one full day on set, QSK captured engaging imagery during a Social Content Sprint.

What type of content was captured?

To start, QSK captured photos of Maazah products individually and as a set in a wide variety of scenes for versatility.

During the photoshoot, QSK also captured Maazah Chutney products with a few finished dishes to provide some inspiration for how to use the product and what it’s typically paired with.

QSK created GIFs to add some motion to the images, and captured images of team members interacting with the food to add a human element to the product and make it even more appealing.

What did Maazah Chutney have to say about the experience?

"We loved working with Kristen & Quincy Street Kitchen!

We needed new product shots and lifestyle photos and Kristen went above and beyond to make our products stand out — so much so we made a big splash with our relaunch and made it into the New York Times. She has a clean sense of design and eye for creativity and does an amazing job at food styling, shooting, and brought in her own flair with GIF ideas that have wowed our social audience.

We have continued to wow our audience with this photo collection across platforms, cropping, zooming and resizing. The thought and detail Kristen & the QSK team put into our project was invaluable to our brand and growing business."

But don’t take it from us…

What does Maazah’s PR Rep have to say?

Big fan of your beautiful work! You’re a huge part of the reason Maazah gets so much love—beautiful photos help tremendously.

Karina Martinez, founder of Avana Creative and Maazah Chutney’s PR Rep

There’s a reason you don’t see grainy, low-quality imagery paired with great media placements. They just can’t support the story as high-quality images can. Maazah Chutney’s PR contact, Karina Martinez of Avana Creative explains.

“Having high-resolution images is an integral part of PR success. It’s one of the first things we ask of our clients when going through the onboarding process. Reporters and editors rely on us to have high-quality images ready to share with them when media opportunities arise. In my experience, it’s often clients with the most attention to their photos’ details that get rewarded with media placements.

“When media selects our clients’ photos in a story, the brand sees a higher ROI from the media hit than those who simply get a few lines or mention. Kristen and the QSK team have played a huge part in our client, Maazah’s PR success and have been instrumental in securing media placements for the brand that spans from Condé Nast Traveler to The New York Times!”
